I study people’s views of their health and use of services and how primary care services are delivered. I will focus on people’s views of taking part in ReDIRECT.

Prof Naveed Sattar

Professor/Honorary Consultant (Cardiovascular & Medical Sciences)

I have an extensive research background within the University of Glasgow and am currently involved in several lifestyle and drug trials in diabetes and cardiovascular disease. I will contribute to the medical evaluation and reporting of the trial.

Prof Alex McConnachie

Professor of Clinical Trial Biostatistics

I have worked on the design and analysis of randomised trials for over 25 years, including the original DiRECT study in type 2 diabetes. I will be responsible for the analysis of the data collected as part of ReDIRECT.

Dr Tracy Ibbotson

Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement Lead, MVLS

I help members of the public, patients and carers to work with researchers to prioritise and shape research. I will focus on supporting people with long covid to be involved in planning this project

I am Professor of Health Economics based at the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment team at the University of Glasgow. I have led a large number of economic evaluations across different disease areas and will lead the economic evaluation within REDIRECT.
